LEGACIES IN PAPER
Nancy Cohen · Sara Garden Armstrong · Helen Hiebert

Open until January 30th, 2026

Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking | Georgia Tech

Legacies in Paper brings together my work with that of Helen Hiebert and Nancy Cohen, exploring paper as a material shaped by process, memory, and transformation. While rooted in the traditions of papermaking, each of us approaches the medium differently—pushing paper beyond the page and into sculptural, spatial, and conceptual form.

The exhibition includes my large-scale installation Airplayer XIX, along with my recent drawing series Structured Mapping. These works are presented alongside newly built forms that extend the evolving Airplayer environment and reflect my ongoing exploration of paper as an immersive, physical experience.

The Legacies in Paper exhibition catalogue documents the work of Nancy Cohen, Sara Garden Armstrong, and Helen Hiebert, offering a deeper look into the ideas, processes, and material explorations behind the exhibition.

The catalogue includes installation views, selected works, and essays that reflect on paper as both medium and conceptual language.

The publication features a foreword by Director Virginia Howell, a curator statement by Jerushia Graham, and an essay by curator and arts administrator Bridget Donlon, providing critical context for the exhibition and the artists’ practices.

“While paper is often viewed as merely the starting point for the creation of art, this Exhibit challenges that notion, presenting it as an integral part of the creative process.”
